Addiction treatment
for teens and adults

Addiction rarely looks the way people expect. Sometimes it’s substances. Just as often it’s something quieter, gambling, pornography, screens, gaming, patterns that take hold slowly and are hard to talk about. Whether this is the first time you’re reaching out or you’ve been struggling for a long time, you’re not alone in it, and it can change.

I work with both substance and process addictions

Substance addictions include drugs and alcohol.

Process addictions, sometimes called behavioral addictions, include sex, gambling, social media, gaming, and pornography. They don’t involve a substance, but they follow the same patterns in the brain and can be just as consuming and just as painful to live with.

Adolescence is where these patterns often take root

Adolescence is often where these patterns first take root, and it’s a critical window. A teen caught in compulsive gaming, pornography, vaping, or substance use is usually managing something underneath, anxiety, disconnection, pain they don’t have words for yet.

I work with teens directly, and I work with parents who are frightened and unsure how to help. The goal isn’t punishment or shame. It’s understanding what the behavior is doing for them, and building something healthier in its place.

Why they belong in the same room

Addiction is often a solution to a problem, a way of coping with pain, stress, or trauma that hasn’t healed. That’s why treating the addiction alone often isn’t enough, and why the behavior comes back.

Because I work in both trauma and addiction, I can treat them together, addressing what’s driving the behavior rather than just the behavior itself. You don’t have to see one person for the addiction and someone else for what’s underneath it.

Built around your situation

Treatment is tailored to you. Depending on what you’re facing, the work may draw on approaches like EMDR and Internal Family Systems for the trauma underneath, integrated with twelve-step principles and practical, proven tools for interrupting the addictive pattern itself.

What matters is that it’s built around your situation, not forced into a single formula.

Handled with care

I understand the community I work in, and how much discretion matters. Reaching out is handled with care and confidentiality from the first conversation.
